The EcoSensitivity Tool
The EcoSensitivity tool evaluates the environmental impacts of oil spills by integrating real-time data,
advanced modeling algorithms and simulation capabilities. It predicts:
- the volume of oil realeased into the sea,
- the drift and spread of the spill,
- the resulting environmental impacts.
This supports more effective decision-making and response actions.
The EcoSensitivity tool was developed as part of the OpenRisk II (Tools for shared &
dynamic maritime traffic risk picture of the Baltic Sea region) project, co-funded by the Interreg
Baltic Sea Region Programme 2021-2027, to support the transition towards a greener and more resilient Baltic Sea region.
